It all begins with an idea, but how do you know who to trust with your home? And how can you know a contractor is licensed? You ask for proof. Here at Cheverly Home Improvement, we provide it all upfront. Scroll down to see our up-to-date coverage and lead-safe certification. Even our communication person carries a Maryland contractor sales license. NOTE: The forms below are often needed for home improvement programs, insurance claims, and bank loans. The forms are provided below as a courtesy. We do not assist in any program applications.

You can also check by name or license number here at the Maryland Department of Labor contractor site. Why is this important? A licensed contractor protects the homeowner because they pay into the Maryland Home Improvement Guaranty Fund. The fund compensates homeowners for any loss caused by the acts or omissions of a licensed contractor or crew. If a homeowner hires an unlicensed contractor, they will not be eligible to collect money from the fund.

Hiring an unlicensed contractor may seem inexpensive upfront, but it removes every consumer protection Maryland offers.
